My first reaction to an overhyped book is suspicion. Obviously, this knee-jerk reaction stopped me from reading this well-hyped book. But finally I said, what the heck, let’s just live vicariously. 😛
Honestly, I was expecting all the cheesy stuff. I ignored all the five-star reviews and battled on. Post a sleep-deprived reading session, I finally completed this.
Will is a great character, who is headstrong and knows what he wants. Lou who I expect to be ditsy, was so much more. I wish the novel got more into the intricacies, more into the head of both leads, but then it wouldn’t match the genre I guess.
The arguments about the whole Euthanasia topic was delicately handled with a dash of reality instead of painting a pretty picture. I loved how the book ended. It was just a perfect ending.
The novel is good, I enjoyed it. Not 5 star worthy or something I LOVED as per the popular opinion but much better than anything else in the similar genre. A good engaging quick read.
