Book Review: The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living by Louise Miller

The City Baker's Guide to Country LivingThe City Baker's Guide to Country Living by Louise Miller
Publisher: Pamela Dorman Books
Publishing Date: August 9th 2016
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is going to be a tiny review mostly because the book is not that vast.

While it lasted, it was a fun read. Lightweight and easy to get through in a couple of sittings.
The characters are amusing enough, with surface level conflicts. The writing flows easily and the pace is right  for a chick-lit. The book doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is, which is great.

I missed Olivia’s (protagonist) backstory , it was lacking. You get a hint of why she moved to country but it’s not enough to be convincing.

Good comfy read to curl up to on  a boring afternoon. The description creates a beautiful atmospheric  ambience. Various descriptions of yummy treats being baked will have you salivating. I definitely craved an apple pie after this!

Just don’t question the plot too much or try to find much layer, and you will enjoy it.
Would recommend to those who want a feel-good fast read.
