I think I am in love with art post this! As soon as I finished this, I went and got myself a micro pen and went about scribbling nonsense on some pages. That’s how inspired I was.

I was never a fan of this medium of writing – comics, graphic novels –  but this novel has very much turned me.
The rich black and white sketches are mind-blowingly gorgeous. I noticed myself studying how Craig had created this imagery. It truly is a thing of beauty, and so far removed from the usual comicy art. It is refreshing!

The story picked from his own life, it was rich and complex. I loved that it was layered yet so simple that each of us could relate.
This  has become my favourite.

If you are looking for coming -of-age story, this is it!

I’ve been meaning to post this review for some time. Finally its here.

Reading this was enjoyable and refreshing. I loved being transported to this ephemeral world through such lucid prose. The magic element shone through, very well. I loved getting sucked into this fantasy world.

The original concept of baking magic infused cakes, how awesome is that! While reading, I wish I had the same powers.

Maire and Fyel were fun to read, they were interesting. Supporting characters although didn’t have much meat in the novel, were good. The plot unfolds at a good pace and is layered. Story ended ending in a shocking manner and made sense.

The writing was the right kind of descriptive, without being too annoying ( as in most cases). It brought every scene alive and I could picturise it.

I’ve never read books of this author, so I am impressed. Will surely be looking more of her published works. Definitely recommend, if you are in a mood for escapist fiction that is charming.
